What is an interesting book with a great story line and engaging characters?

I am a high school student and some of my favorites (just to give you an idea of what I like) include-A Farewell to Arms (Hemingway)-Handmaid's Tale (Atwood)-Catcher in the Rye (Salinger)-Harry Potter (JK Rowling), Lord of the Rings (Tolkien)-Eyre Memoirs of a Geisha (Golden)-Jane (CB)-Pride and Prejudice (Austen) I need something well a must read … all suggestions are greatly appreciated! Choose one or two of your favorites!

I love Jane Austen. And "Memoirs of a Geisha "is one of my favorites too. My absolute favorite, however, is" Katherine "by Anya Seton. Seton Almost nothing is good," Katherine " is his best. The characters stayed with me for years. It is a book that I have come back to over and over because I can not stay away. Diana Gabaldon was "Outlander" books are great … but I must warn you, they contain defined "adult content" (language, sex, violence, etc.).
